Our Pick in Newport This place is our pick for a motel whenever we visit Newport. It is located near Nye Beach and the Newport Performing Arts Center. It has a great access to the beach, an indoor pool and spa. It offers free popcorn in the lobby and a continental breakfast. Pets are allowed also. The Whaler Every year I make my way home to Oregon from Arkansas and I take my 83 year old Mom on a road trip down the coast. The Whaler is our choice in Newport, very nice clean rooms, great Continental breakfast, but most of all the view of the magnificant Oregon Coast from our room with a deck to sit out and enjoy the wonderful salt air the sounds of the seagulls, and the awesone sounds of the ocean.
