We had a lot of fun here! The drinks aren’t bad but they have shuffleboard and life size connect 4 super fun time!
I wanted to like it but it just wasn't a great experience. The prices are high and the service was very average. Add the fact that they won't let you try the beer first and it just makes you rather go elsewhere.
Ordered two draft beers, both IPAs were either way past their prime, or The Whale doesn't clean their lines. I asked if I could sample the beer before I ordered a full pour, but was told they don't do samples. If I had sampled the beer, I likely would have informed them how off they tasted. Very disappointed in this place, considering it's supposed to be one of the best beer bars around Asheville. I've had good experiences at the other Whale locations, though it's always pricey. Usually though, the beers are worth the price.
Great addition to South Slope...excellent selection and knowledgeable bartenders!
