2 stars is being generous. Let’s start out with the positive. Raisa’s classes were amazing and very helpful! Gwen was an AMAZING therapist and I loved her groups as well, they were tough but really got down to what is wrong! Kelly, Lauren, Toni, Dawn absolutely amazing staff!! I got a lot out of most of the groups; however I couldn’t finish my time there due to all of the other issues this place has. The cleanliness of this place is a 0 out of 10. After struggling for 30 years with my mental health due to trauma and mood disorders, I was desperate when I discovered the Wave at Edgewater. It was life-altering. I’d like to comment and counter on some of the negatives others have written. - It’s true that the facilities are run-down. It’s an old building right on the bay, but it reminded me of an old Key West hotel, and I had no problem with that. There was NOT a cockroach “problem,” but the occasional palmetto bug was seen. I arrived in a state of complete hopelessness and left with a renewed vigor for life and all it has to offer. The therapists and staff are extremely supportive, knowledgeable, and focused on the wellbeing of their clients. I was able to address my PTSD, depression, and anxiety in a way I never thought possible. My childhood trauma had been causing negative patterns and cycles in my life that I now have the tools to end, so that I can live a happier and healthier life. I'm writing this as a family member What started out as a nice stay at the wave, the water is healing and my family member needed this healing. But. It’s hard to heal when you have staff that’s sleeping at night every night and can’t help you. Cooking chicken everyday but I must say the chefs are great. Every concern they have the RTF is never there and behaves like she does not care anything about the clients at all. Toni is always yelling at everyone.
