Beautiful location and impeccable food!
The Waterside is a really lovely restaurant on the outskirts of Whitby. We booked in for Sunday roast and were not disappointed. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself has a lot of character. There's a lovely warm and cosy atmosphere inside, though tall people be warned as the ceiling is quite low! We were visiting Whitby for a long weekend and this restaurant was recommended to us by a family friend. We are so grateful for the recommendation! We dined on the last Friday in September (thankfully just about warm enough to enjoy the outdoor setting, helped by heaters and blankets). The setting is beautiful and feels very unique. Now favourite restaurant in North Yorkshire, and possibly The World! Exceptional in every way. Venue, staff, food, even the parking and umbrellas to combat the Yorkshire Mist. I particularly liked that it is a dedicated restaurant, not a pub doing good food, that does good food. Fabulous meal on a sunny Saturday evening in a beautiful riverside setting. Food delicious and some good non-alcoholic drink options. Really good service. It was so great we booked for Sunday lunch the next day on an inside table and the decor was lovely. A real gem of a find. Parking onsite. No dogs!
