Top tier customer service, Logan and Jay are great hosts! Location was great. Building is definitely old but rustic and charming. Renovations were happening during my stay so updates could be soon. Unfortunately I found our room a little dirty along with mold all along the showerhead and railing. Also walls are crazy thin I could hear everything outside, next to us, and above us. If it’s only a night or two it’s a good stay right on the beach but it’s definitely not the most modern or clean.
Booked a last-minute room while riding the Pacific Coast Bike Trail. Was initially skeptical of the price and location, but arrived to find a truly charming historic hotel, right on the boardwalk. The young folks renovating the place are doing a fantastic job, and are super friendly and helpful. My room is spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with a kitchenette. Everything you need for a great stay at the beach. Highly recommend!
We have stayed in this hotel in the past; it is loosely run and not generally super clean, but the location is great. But this latest time we tried to book a room, we called the hotel and we kept getting the same guy who strung us along for a couple months, was going to offer a good price, but the prices in the area now keep going up. Finally we booked another hotel (at a higher price now no-thanks to this guy!). SUPER unprofessional conduct. Our stay at the hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The room had a strong, overwhelming fishy odor that the manager himself acknowledged and apologized for, even appearing shocked by how bad it was. Hoping it would improve, especially since the windows were left open, I tried to give it a chance—but when we returned hours later, the smell had only gotten worse. It was unbearable. Absolutely loved my stay here! Perfect for a little beach getaway. The building is older and preserved full of charm, but that’s what makes it special. The people that work here are very kind, helpful, and care about their guests. It’s quite literally steps away from the beach and great restaurants/bars, so make sure to explore the area. I truly had the best time and wish i was able to stay longer! Just prepare for street parking (they provide a permit) and pay attention to the signs.
