I've lived in this apartment community for over four years, and there are definitely things I appreciate about living here. The location is excellent, the maintenance team is top-notch, and the amenities are well-maintained and enjoyable. Unfortunately, there is one major issue that overshadows those positives: the frequent water shutoffs. Pros: Location -- Downtown OP is very walkable and next to some fun things such as the farmers market and seasonal events, like parades and fairs. It is also in between downtown KC and South OP, making either commute pretty reasonable. My experience with moving into this place was pleasant and easy. The staff is super friendly, and informative. Leigh was the staff member who assisted me. I fell in love with the apartment. Sydney also assisted me with moving in. These ladies are so sweethearts. They need a raise!

As other reviews have indicated, at least once per year (and specifically 3 times in the past 9 months), the water for the building is shut off or broken for an indefinite amount of time. Historically it’s been periods of at least 24 hours and sometimes up to 3 days with no water. Management leaves water bottles in the lobby and they bring a trailer for their ~400+ residents to share as the restroom or suggest you go use the restrooms in a neighboring business in downtown OP. Just a quick word about Dave. Dave is the “Go to” guy when you have an issue with any trouble in your apartment at the VUE in Overland Park. There have been few issues since I moved in about a year ago. But here’s an example from earlier this weekend. I went to the office to report that my toilet seat was broken. Within the hour, Dave was there and installed a new seat. He’s efficient, but he’s just a really nice guy, too!
