Very cute little bakery/Café just by the Metra. Your train is delayed? You came way before it’s scheduled? Hop in for the best bagels with fresh (!!) chives cream cheese, any of the delicious cinnamon creations in pastry and croissant form or a slice of strawberry-rhubarb cake…it’s worth it! Daily offers on buy-one-get-two or free-coffee-with also. Thank you also for a very friendly service!
I called to ask if they could make a loaf of banana bread. She told me yes and also I needed it by the next day, which she also accommodated. I called several other bakeries beforehand and none of them made banana bread. Not only were they accommodating, the bread was delicious and the price was more than fair. I will be going back to order more when I need my next cake. I was so appreciative.
Was told they could make fresh Kolache Cookies, to come back in 1 hour. Came back and was told they were not made bc they were not sure if we were coming back. ? They didn’t take our information or phone number. Said they didn’t want to risk us not coming back. Well we would have gladly gave you our information if you asked. The bakery is nothing special when you walk in only few baked doughnuts and sugar cookies. Take your business elsewhere.
Quaint little bakery with excellent pastries and bagels and awesome counter service
After ordering a 6", 2-layer cake for the first time from this bakery, cutting into it was a bit of a surprise - scraps of brown paper ended up in everyone's slice. To me, it seems like the baking liner was not removed from the layers before assembly, which is a little outrageous when you take into account the $35 charge for this small of a cake.
