Balfour Boardwalk Memory Care in Louisville did a superb job helping me place a loved one from the state of CO into a safe memory care environment for Respite Care quickly. Melissa and the staff were quick to help, answer our questions, and accommodate us at a very difficult time. I worked with them from another state, so having them answer our endless questions and being so efficient with communication was comforting and priceless. If you have a loved one that is a fall risk, do not leave them at Balfour. They do a poor job of following through with checking in on their residents and will leave them on the ground for hours. This place is the definition of overpromising and underdelivering.

My sister and I cannot say enough good things about the care that Balfour has provided to our parents. We had toured the place previously with our parents but, at the time, our parents had not made the decision to move into assisted living. We found ourselves in an emergency situation where it became clear the situation had reached a point of crisis – our father was in the hospital and, with my mother progressing with dementia, it was clear that they would not be able to return to their home. This is the place where a lady froze to death, as described in a Dec-2023 WaPo article. Behind the fiscal scene is an owner that sucks a ridiculous percentage of the revenue. Both residents & Balfour are victims of the situation. Balfour can make all the claims of wonderfulness that it wants, but the owner doesn’t share enough of the revenue for Balfour to fully keep its promises.
