The bartenders/servers were all very cool. Nice little spot. Too bad they aren’t open weekends.
To get here: Enter from University, the northwest corner between the buildings. You can also go through a covered walkway and down two flights of stairs from 2nd. Atmosphere was okay, but the place is very small. Our waiter was great, he did let us know about the new 22% service charge before we ordered. I thought the drinks were pretty good. Big servings, delicious and friendly staff. Not busy on Friday nights. Fish & chips- crispy (not too thick) on big chunks of fish. Tons of fries- seasoned, cooked well and thin. Squash salad is large, love the the dressing (started eating fast so only have half in pic). Dessert was so light and fluffy - pumpkin flavored panna cotta. Place has a lot of seating spread out & area outside too.
I don't know why restaurants are doing thus, but they add 4% surcharge to your bill and put it in small writing on the bottom of the menu. Just add 5% to the food prices and don't be shady.
Not sure why reservations are accepted till 6:30 if they close at 7. Even though we were the only people there the service was not up to ESR standards. Waited 10 minutes for drinks. Ordered two apps that never came. We had to ask several times for things like ketchup and straws. As a big fan of ESR it was a disappointing experience. Edit: 10/7/23 2 of the 4 of us got what appears to be food poisoning from the burgers
