Awful experience! I have excruciating back pain and fell at home last evening injuring both legs so I’m unable to walk. They did a very cursory “triage”, then put me in a broken chair in the waiting room facing the wall and told me they didn’t have a pillow. Or water. I can’t even see the nurses station from where I’m sitting and they can’t see me either. Hope I don’t vomit or need to use the restroom. I visited the University of Kansas Hospital Emergency Room on a Sunday morning due to abdominal pain caused by a strangulated hernia. After a quick triage, I was seen immediately. The staff was incredibly kind and responded to my condition with urgency and professionalism. I underwent a CT scan and was in surgery within a couple of hours.
