As my time at CAPS has bittersweetly come to an end, I really appreciated what they have done for me throughout the academic year. I was struggling so much during the fall semester and my therapist really worked with me to find the right diagnosis. I met with her weekly and she truly understood me and showed me great empathy and recommended a ton of AMAZING books. I felt like every staff member I encountered cared about me. Don't do urgent care because they will force you to transfer care and break the bond between you and your therapist/psychiatrist when you are in crisis. You’ll end up feeling worse because you can never work with your clinician again. That’s basically someone you trust and feel comfortable with. Being forcefully transferred out and told you’ll be receiving higher level of care doesn’t help but will only make you feel more vulnerable. You have the rights to decline services at wherever you’re being transferred to but you can ... read more
