Hello, I am reviewing for my diabetic husband who got heart transplant and moved from ICU to recovery center... Here he is waiting and waiting and waiting for nurse to come and check his sugar before he eats his meal ...no one showed up for 45 minutes finally, I went to the desk for help still no one came for a while and my husband's sugar dropped very low and food got cold. This place is terrible. Communication lacking, Dr’s and other staff arrogant, over priced and they do not hear what they don’t want to hear. Family member was diagnosed with needing open heart surgery. He was freaked out and said he did not want to do it. I go online and look for alternatives, come across uchicago medicine and their robotic minimally invasive (TECAB) surgery. Send them a message, this is 12/18. When to we got here was given wrong directions to the Medical records department and got turned around. Once we finally get to the right area we are told we have to wait AN HOUR for the person to get back from lunch. This is unacceptable. We drone an hour to get here. Should have been able to SEND THESE. But bc the doctor is not an UC Doc wil not send them.
This was the worse health care I have ever experienced. They had us arrive at 11am and didn’t see us until 2:30pm. My wife was scheduled for a colonoscopy but wasn’t given any pain medication and was rushed out the door at 6pm with no consultation or instructions
