This is a cool bar. It’s got some good age to it and the old bar feel. My wife and I came here for the fish fry for lunch. The bartender maybe the only one working at this time as I’m pretty sure she took our order got our drinks and made the food! She seems to be doing it all well. Was just looking for a casual dinner. We live in the area and wanted to try it. I had looked at the menu before we went and wanted the Union Melt. As soon as we got there our server says "the only thing I don't have is the Union Melt because the braised beef isn't ready yet" Really? It WAS dinner time, but whatever. Been going here a lot since it opened as the Union. The menu has changed each time Ive gone. The Marshall Chicken was good.
Visited for the first time but it will not be the last! Great atmosphere with a vintage feel. The service was exceptional - attentive and quick. So many things on the menu we wanted to try but chose one of the nights specials - a glazed porkchop - and a strip steak with oyster mushrooms. We had the fried oysters for an appetizer and pie for desert. You gotta try their chocolate peanut butter tort - so rich and decadent! Really impressed with the look and feel of this restaurant. The food presentation was also beautiful. Unfortunately the flavors didn’t live up to the visuals. Glad I came but probably would only go once.
