an alright place purchased a few fish for feeders and overall our experience wasn't bad one boy in there working didnt want to sell us the kind we wanted but a young lady waited on us and her service and knowledge was great
Friendly, Helpful Prover of Animal Needs This is a great place to buy fish, aquariums, lizards and small animal supplies. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and truly love critters. Bring the kids just to windowshop. There is no aquarium in Portland but there are beautiful fish, frog, crab and shrimp on display at this pet store. PROS: Family owned and run CONS: Small staff sometimes mean you have to wait
The Tropical Hut This is a great place to go for people who love their fish tanks! They have a great variety of fish and supplies to choose from. It is a fun place to just go and take a look around. The employees have always been helpful whenever we go in there. I would definitely recommend.
dead rats The water bottle leaks, yes they said i could bring it in for a new one. The 2 rats we got were feed quality and one promptly died the next day in my hands. They said if i had bought it in alive i could get a NEW rat, for 8.95 Since they SOLD me a feed rat when i had the intention of getting a pet quality rat. We got another rat from family pet, were i usually buy my rats and that rat was infected by the other rat and is now dead. Don't listen to the hysterical PETA freak. This is a great place with lots of healthy animals and excellent staff. I have bought several snakes here and all have been healthy. Great selection of animals and products at very reasonable prices.
Bought a beautiful bearded dragon there and he was healthy but the lady at the store recommended a 125watt light fixture and as a result we almost cooked the poor guy to death. Granted I should have done my own research and made sure I got the right stuff. The employee also said he should be on mostly vegetables and not much crickets but that is an ADULT diet. RecommendedGreat selection of critters specially love all the reptiles. This is a great place to get everything you need for your critters the staff is very knowledgeable. They truly love their animals and it shows
We got a beautiful baby corn snake and the staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. their prices are also very reasonable. I drove all the way from Salem to check them out and will definitely be coming back.
Tropical Hut is hands down the best pet store in Portland. They have incredible staff and the best customer service. I personally have multiple snakes from them that are thriving. Would recommend this place to everyone! 😊
