In my 30 years on earth I literally have never had a worse experience at a restaurant or bar. I'm not expecting 5 star service, but what I just endured was the most ridiculous experience ever. I feel like this place needs to go on bar rescue.

Good food, Worst Waitstaff – My group of 4 came in after a show at the Fillmore. We politely asked the waitress if the kitchen was still open because it was getting close to 10pm & if it wasnt we would've gladly gone somewhere else as we were starving & having been a waitress before I know what it's like to have customers come in when you're trying to shut down the kitchen. She seemed irritated and muttered "for a while longer". Ok, either it is or it isnt. Sorry. Again, we would've went somewhere else. Everyone around us wa... read more

Highbrow trappings and rich decor mingle with a boisterous scene that gets a kick from DJs and live musical acts. – In Short Old-school brass and a dark, wood interior make this classic downtown hangout the perfect place for professionals and the young and hip. Located on the ground floor of the Park Avenue Hotel and conveniently located behind the Second City Theater, the crowd is a mix of theatergoers, performers and local students. The leather couches, antique decor and high bar stools make it a place to be a regular or a... read more

You Can Do Better – Yeah, it's close to Comerica Park and the newly built Ford Field, but surely you can do better than this joint. The bar is stocked with once-hip regulars who now try way too hard to be cool. The waitstaff is roundly bad. Head to the Comet or the Park Henry across 1-75 for a taste of real Detroit.

$20 for 2 (two ) Martinis !! – I just spent $20 for 2 (two) martinis....Had lunch and 4 beers at Slows on Michigan Ave. for $22. This place is full of pretentious fat-cats. NEVER AGAIN.

A really Fun bar. – This is a vary cool looking bar. It can get a little packed at times, but for the most part its a great down town Tavern. Good drinks. We tried the Pizza and Salad, We really liked it. We'll be back.

Fun – The Town Pump is just fine. It's not the greatest bar in Detroit, but it's not the worst either. The place is decorated like an old library, and has a sort of shabby elegance to it. The beer is cold, the mixed drinks good (but a little pricy), and the crowd usually very lively. Chief downsides: it gets very, very crowded and smoky most weekend nights. But if you arrive early and get a decent table, you should be quite comfortable the rest of the evening.
