Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a supplier or contractor. We purchased a laminate countertop through Home Depot, which was manufactured and delivered by Top Shop. Within less than two months, the countertop swelled and bubbled, despite the kitchen still being under renovation and no water exposure from use. Top Shop refuses to take responsibility, claiming “moisture damage” and denying warranty coverage. Home Depot also deflects, even though they are the point of sale. I ordered counter tops from Home Depot which were then passed on to The Top Shop. Quite obviously, customer service has taken a nose dive in the last 5 years, and this company didn't disappoint. I told the agent at the store, specifically and multiple times during our conversation that I would not be home to accept my delivery before 12:30pm, and could not take an entire day off work to wait at home for a delivery that could take place at any given moment. Update 2025: We needed our granite recut as part of a renovation. The stone itself is still beautiful, 15 years later! I contacted The Top Shop for help, confident they would be there to help me out. Surprisingly, the response was “we will have to decline this service as it is not something that we are currently able to complete”. Apparently it is more profitable for them to sell new product than to support old customers. The installer was pleasant. But the countertop was not installed properly. Possibly due to improper measurements or cutting. Trying to get a hold of this company is imposdible due to the fact that their phone. # is linked with a solicitor who can't even give you the proper phone #. Very inconsiderate
We ordered our countertop from Home Depot. Home Depot was okay to deal with and the Installer (3rd party) was also very pleasant and professional. The counter took awhile (ordered in July) to have prepared and was supplied by Top-Shop. The first counter was damaged when it arrived. Sometimes this happens, and Home Depot did the claim to replace. Another couple weeks go by and we have our replacement, which was installed well (October).
