I was a patient for several years, getting script refills from the psychiatrist, Dr. Arul Ravindran. I was really thankful for these script refills being able to be done by me emailing Dr Arul Ravindran. I had gotten a referral from my doctor to go here. When I arrived for my appointment there were four girls including 2 Americans who were at the desk. I waited 1 hour listening to the four girls have extremely inappropriate conversations that was triggering as it was about mental health issues. I asked where the psychiatrist was and was told she was in a meeting and would be out soon. After waiting another 30 minutes i left. I came here during the midst of an ongoing mental health crisis and met with Dr. Tomas Heard who, unprompted, immediately brought up and made sexual comments about his previous clients breast size as well as the topic of SA - he then belittled my concerns before laughing me out of the room in a hurry when he realised it was closing time; I was in tears as I was leaving and proceeded to have a panic attack in the clinic's stairway. While I understand that cancellations can be frustrating (especially when a psychiatrist is the only option to access necessary meds to boost your quality of life), I’ve personally had nothing but good experiences from this clinic. The reception staff are always incredibly kind and accommodating to my pre-appointment anxiety, the general mood of the clinic is calm and relaxing, and the lights aren’t in-your-face bright. I have engaged with Dr. Heard over the past few months. I felt that Dr. Heard was invalidating of my concerns with treatment. Dr. Heard said I was difficult to treat and ignored any concerns with the treatment even after noting that his treatment was worsening my concerns.
