The building that The Tap occupies was built in the early 1900's and was an actual train depot until its movement from Waller, Texas to College Station in the early seventies. It was several businesses until it was remodeled into The Tap in 1990. The Tap opened December 29th, 1990 to a crowd watching the original Texas A&M Wrecking Crew dislocate both of Heisman winner Ty Detmer's shoulders in the Holiday Bowl against BYU in Hawaii...oh, and the Ags won, by the way
