We were very happy with the experience our mother had at The Sumach. Although she was there for only one year before transitioning to a long term care home, she received a high level of care and support throughout this time. Their ability to adapt to sudden changes in Mom’s care needs was also greatly appreciated.
Our father suddenly wasn't able to live on his own and we quickly needed to find a retirement home for him in the downtown Toronto area to be close to our family and friends. Someone had mentioned The Sumach by Chartwell to me and after taking a tour there I was extremely impressed by the quality of their suites, facilities and kind, caring and helpful staff. My mother has been well-served living at the Sumach for almost 2 years now. The in-house PSW's are very kind and attentive. The dining room food is good. The suites are spacious and very nice. It is a beautiful building. Looking forward to more positive changes with the new General Manager who is improving communication and processes.
Hi Ray Deffett the place is good ,with lots to do . The employees are friendly and don't bother you at anytime. The office Manager Parjot Kaur was extremely helpful all the time ,she would be there if you needed her . Vary good at her job she really looks after you . So Parjot to me was a 5 star but the whole place a 4 star . I think you will be happy there thanks Ray
