Active duty guy here. Spouse walked out for potential divorce last weekend and I am in crisis. It’s May 18. They would not proceed with intake for couples counseling because I said I would be gone on military training in Hawaii in July. They would not accommodate an initial appointment any time in June and said “go see the Chaplain.” They don’t have military peoples backs. Coordinating supervisor would not budge and said go to one source for now.
I just spoke with Anita at the Cohen Clinic in Lakewood. She is amazing, she was very professional with everyone on the group call, she asked questions to make sure everyone was heard and taken care of, she was very timely, and when she found out that we weren't a good fit, she looked up several places that might work for us. She even called many of them for us, to see if they could help. She then said she would keep looking in case they didn't work.
