The Stephen Foster Story is a broadway-style show about the life of America's first composer, Stephen Collins Foster. The performance takes place in My Old Kentucky Home State Park at the J. Dan Talbot Amphitheatre. The grounds on which the theatre lies once belonged to the Rowan family, who were cousins of Stephen Foster, and is home to Federal Hill, the plantation house that inspired the state song. My Sister and I came to see the show opening night. It was spectacular! The young man portraying Mr Stephen Foster, was excellent. His range of emotion throughout the night was a pleasure to witness. The young lady playing Jenny was exceptional as well. Both actors drew you into the story and emerse you in the play so much that you forget you're not actually a part of it. I will be making plans to see this production again.
Saw Beauty and the Beast. Very well done. Loved it and do did my granddaughters.
Attended again last night with friends from out of town. I've seen the performance well over a dozen times and I still thoroughly enjoy each as it was my first. And...the new stage and sound system are great! Thank you!
