There’s no way I have the time to type out how amazing my birth was. Courtney was my midwife. I had a little complication with my baby’s positioning during labor and Courtney was able to help me in a way where I was never scared, or worried! Even with the 4 minute long contractions. I believe God led me to the starting place and that she was planned for me. I am forever grateful. To put my perception simply, I was ready to have another baby with her help just 20 minutes after my girl came out.
Had my second baby with the Starting place. I never had a hard time reaching them when I need answers.I loved being able to decide on medical interventions. I would choose this experience again. During labor, I was cared for, received verbal support and physical support such as counter pressure. They helped me get through my dream birth from start to finish all while being very accommodating.
This team is amazing! (I will preface this by saying I unfortunately did not give birth here ONLY because we had to move). But immediately everyone here made me feel extremely comfortable with the process. I was wanting an at home birth and with the small team it is very intimate and they do everything to make you feel completely comfortable with the entire process. Very family friendly! If you are feeling nervous and don’t want to give birth in a hospital but are curious whether a birthing center might be right for you, let me gently reassure you that it absolutely can be. My growing family and I had such an amazing experience at The Starting Place. They made my birth experience empowering and less daunting because of how they thoroughly educate. The team is amazing and they truly listen. The timing of me going into the center to give birth was perfect. I’d do it again and again. I look forward to the next time!
