I am an ER nurse and was nervous to birth in a traditional hospital due to the many stories of truama and the sterility of a hospital setting. The Starting Place was recommended to me and it was truly the experience I was looking for and healing for me. After the loss of my first pregnancy and the twin of my now son I was looking for some where I felt safe. Brook, Courtney, and Lindsay were absolutely wonderful. The Starting Place and everyone that helped aid in my prenatal, birth, and postnatal care, was exceptional. It was a drastic difference than my previous birth at the hospital in the best way. Everything about The Starting Place is fantastic. The midwives, assistants, and the rest of the staff are all so sweet, supportive, and caring. My first two births were in a typical hospital setting with pregnancy/postpartum care at my previous OB. I would spend hours in waiting rooms and was not educated near as much as this third pregnancy with TSP. I had plenty of information for every decision I had to make with the help of these amazing women. My birth was calm and peaceful with no beeping or machines or cords in the wa... read more
