Came to The Sparrow with friends expecting a chic little evening. We got HomeGoods clearance aisle with a liquor license. The escargot was cold. The sauce was giving someone’s first attempt at hosting a dinner party, served on Home Goods dinnerware. The food tasted like it was purchased from HomeGoods. The fries were good, though. God bless the fries. The waitstaff, with the exception of the new guy (who was actually lovely and tea), were slow and kind of unbothered by our presence until we complained about the escargot. Went to Brooklyn for son's show at Baby's All Right--had some time, so happened up The Sparrow just a block away. What a great find. Excellent food, unusually (for NYC) friendly and attentive staff, great vibe. Thanks.
