We had the painters point room. The ice was out on the lake and the view was beautiful. We watched the rain come across the lake. It is in a great location and went out to the point to see the ice still built up from the winter. It's amazing how thick the ice is that is up on shore. The motel is a little dated but they're currently working on renovations. The artist point room was so peaceful and we cracked the window to hear the waves crash up against the rocks. The bed was very comfortable and was so relaxing.
Manager Monica was super nice and kind, she definetly made our ski trip even more enjoyble while stay at this place! Will visit again.
The staff at the Shoreline Inn were incredible and very friendly. They were helpful and kind. The rooms are dated, but still nice and not dirty. The room has a smart TV, a box fan, lots of towels, and nice beds with good bedding. You do get what you pay for, due to it being one of the more cost effective hotels in the area, but I would definitely stay here again. It's cozy and charming, and has grown on us throughout our stay. It is locally owned as well, so we feel great about supporting local businesses!
A degree of "leaking" (not too bad) of ceiling in second floor hallway at top of stairs to left (bucket helped). My rented room was very good (yet a degree of bathtub drain troubles; water slow to exit). Very kind Staff. Space heater in my rented Room was quite helpful re warmth after I closed the draperies. Wonderful location. Clean. 0700-1000 Breakfast (very helpful); bagles, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juice, yogurt. Microwave on main floor was quite helpful.
The view cannot be beat! Straight up felt like I was floating on Lake Superior. The sunrises were beautiful. Loved being able to walk right outside the hotel and onto the beach. For the price, I couldn’t be happier! Had a beautiful Valentine’s Day weekend. Walking distance from so many shops and restaurants in Grand Marais too.
