This hotel WAS one of our favorites until recently. We called to make reservations, we both had stayed multiple times here over the course of years. Recently we had to cancel. I called a week before hand and was told that their were no names under my name, the next weekend I come to find out that I had been charged 500 dollars!...I immediately called back and was told several times that their were no reservations under my name, the person. This is my second stay here. Absolutely fantastic humans work here! Monica, Carmen, and Timmy 5 plus stars!!! The guests staying here always seem to be super friendly and everyone wants to chat! The lake view room offers beautiful views and sounds of waves. The town is walkable and very safe. Will be back again.

The title of this could be "Rent a Wreck." Everything about the physical condition is all documented elsewhere on this site in pictures and text. Same wastebaskets ineffectually placed under a dripping ceiling. There is a photo of that from a month before my stay. Same location, same wastebaskets. Staff and location are 5 star. Dated to the point of dirty. Filthy looking carpets. The air conditioner is a box fan you can put in your window. How they pass an electrical inspection is a miracle. Dirty windows overlooking Lake Superior.

Leaky roof in hall. No screen on 2nd floor window. Flies in room with no A/C. Broken door hinge makes exit difficult. Outdoor patio covered in seagull poop. Checked out early.
