BAD EXPERIENCE. My fianc� and I (both people of color) went to The Shade Store and were met by sales rep Loretta Cole, a white female. The first words out of her mouth were, “Hi, how did you hear about us? Are you familiar with our prices?” We then began to tell her what we were looking for and she repeatedly asked if we knew about their pricing, and pointed out that the drapery materials I took samples of were “in the highest tier of prices.” This felt very inappropriate and felt as if she was racially profiling us. I thoroughly disliked my experience working with The Shade Store and will never use them again. From the very beginning, the experience felt off. During my first visit to the showroom to begin the design process, I did not feel welcomed at all. My review isn’t based on the product but the lack of service. I walked in and was not greeted once. There was a lady right in front of the door when I walked in who said nothing to me and a man at the counter in the back. There are no indicators of what anything is so you kind of NEED assistance, and I had questions as I’m buying blinds for my new build. But after 10 minutes of no acknowledgment I left.
I just got shades installed in my basement. The installation is perfect. The shades look great. I highly recommend their services.
