Fantastic hidden gem, downstairs of the hotel, that’s absolutely worth experiencing. Thursday’s special was fried chicken, but I went with the meatloaf—and it did not disappoint. If the fried chicken is anywhere near as good as the meatloaf, you’re in for a treat. The onion rings were outstanding—perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter. Easily some of the best my wife and I have ever had.
If you are passing through or living near Wilson, you absolute must stop by the Sample Room. The food here is pure comfort. The pierogis are absolutely great—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor—and the mac and cheese is rich, creamy, and a total standout. What really elevates the whole experience, though, is the service. Rose, who was pulling double duty as both our bartender and waitress, is such a pleasure!
