I had the pleasure of being snowed in last winter at The Salt Box in Greenport. It’s an out of way, easy to get to, cozy destination that afforded me the peace and tranquility that I so needed. This early 19th century home with its wide-plank floors, tasteful appointments and modern updates was a delight to take in. Conveniently located in the heart of wine country and just at the edge of Greenport Village, a stay at The Saltbox is guaranteed to beat your expectations.
If you're ever in Greenport, this is a sweet place to stay in. It was cozy and inviting, and reminded me that our modern days always need a little historical charm. The firepit outside was a sweet touch to the summer night. We had amazing hosts who were responsive and informative. I would love to stay here again should we need to come into Greenport in the future.
The house is amazing with beautiful amenities! Pictures do not do the house justice to how beautiful and charming the house it. This is a great house for a get-away. I will forever keep coming back to this charming house ✨

Much to my chagrin, I've never stayed at The Saltbox. However, I did live nextdoor to it for several years and always thought it was the most charming house in Greenport. The exterior of the building is very handsome and the backyard is adorably inviting. As an 18th c. historic interiors/decorative arts historian, I was always so curious to see inside and now I have!
