I work in the hotel industry.. my wife and I stayed at The Ridges Resort in Hiawassee for a wedding in mid-September, and it was absolutely perfect. The wedding itself was beautiful, and the resort has such a warm, pleasurable atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the staff stood out as extremely friendly, professional, and attentive. Overall great experience!! Location was amazing, very cozy and beautiful. My only concern was the smell in hallway bathroom lingered.
Last night was my first night at this resort Dinner was excellent. The staff was very friendly. As pretty as it is here, I can never see myself coming back for the following reasons. The sliding doors are very noisy when the guests close them and it makes a loud banging noise every time a guest closes one. Unfortunately there was a wedding going on here and the people next to us were partying all night and they must have went in and out their door a hundred times up to 2:00 in the morning. We booked in advance for a 3 night stay for $640.26. I later looked on line on their website and found the same room for $569.85 on the same dates. I asked the hotel to honor those rates or they never got back to me. So I canceled my reservation and rebooked for a lot less money. I recommend you do this before you book with them. I was very disappointed in Kristen for not getting back to me with an answer. The fact that nobody contacted me about my 1 star review shows me that they really do not seem to care.
