We lived at The Retreat for nearly 2.5 years, so this review comes from long-term experience rather than a short stay. While the location was convenient, especially for commuting to Sanford during harsh North Dakota winters, our overall experience was disappointing because of the move-out charges, lack of transparency from management, and several other ongoing concerns during our time there. I lived at The Retreat for nearly 2.5 years, so this review is based on long-term experience rather than a short stay. The biggest advantage of this property is the location. I worked at Sanford, and the short commute was extremely convenient, especially during North Dakota winters. Unfortunately, that was the main reason I stayed as long as I did. Very disappointed with the condition of the amenities. The golf simulator has been broken for weeks, with no tees or clubs available. The pool table is in horrible condition, and the pool sticks were also in awful shape
