I regret moving into The Retreat. The apartment I received was extremely dirty and dusty everywhere, with a weird smell and clear signs that it was not properly cleaned before move-in. The oven and microwave are filthy, and the place overall feels old, neglected, and unhealthy — I even noticed signs of mold and dirt. What makes it worse is that I feel scammed by the photos on their website, which look nothing like the reality. I cannot believe I’m paying $600 for this condition. This place is not worth the money. In addition to the unreasonably steep penalty charges, they also impose an extra fee even when you make your regular payments with direct bank deposit on time. That’s absurd.

Parents and students be forewarned, The Retreat is owned by Landmark Properties which manages college campus apartment complexes all over the country. On first glance, the property appears quite attractive but Landmark is focused on maximizing profit. My son signed a lease with Retreat Pullman without asking the lease termination fee. Now we find out in order to terminate the lease, you have to pay them the amount of six months rent. In Washington state, the lease termination fee normally is one to two months rent. While I was looking for lease takeover in Facebook groups, I found out there are multiple people looking for takeovers for this same apartment. Almost all of them are offering at least one or two month free. I am hoping my story can help you take second thought... read more

Not sure where to even begin with this property. DO NOT live here under ANY circumstances. I am not a student, I work fulltime remotely and had to deal with constant disconnects, network throttling, etc. The internet here has a mind of its own. Often times too I would have to reconnect EVERY time I left and came back to the apartment as well, this went on for almost the entire 12 months I lived there. On top of terrible internet and not being treated like an adult, this company will try and catch you with as many fees as hum... read more
