So angry about needing a subscription to view obituaries. Money grubbing.
I asked the editor, Julie M, to remove information regarding my child’s birth from a Birth Announcement article and she refused this request. I am at a loss to understand how the Republic is able to obtain personal health information from hospital records. I find that publishing this is a gross invasion of privacy, particularly without having my express permission to do so.

As a senior citizen, and past resident of Columbus, I routinely accessed the Republic's obituary page to remember and, as appropriate, comment on friends and acquaintances that have passed. I am now denied access requesting a subscription to this paper. It appears from reviews, and their present operating procedure , they can no longer provide a basic service to their readers and those present residents of Columbus appreciating a nice comment on the loss of their loved one.
