I only have great things to say about The Renfrew Center. I spent 10 weeks in this program and I'm in recovery! The staff was organized, prepared, and thoughtful every single day that I attended. I am an adult that volunteered myself to this program due to a long-term struggle with Binge Eating Disorder and was ready for the work. My daughter was actually very excited about going but just received the same type of condescending, insulting attitude from the staff there. When she questioned what to expect upon her 1st day arrival since like you said, it wasn't made clear prior, she was immediately made to feel humiliated because she was noticing this wasn't for her. It was going to cost over $600 for one month 3 visits a week for weighing her 3 times a week & giving her a menu to eat. NO ACTUAL HELP FOR A MENTAL EATING DISORDER. Update June 26: Your comment below is contrary to the claim made by the Renfrew quality assurance team looking into my complaint. I am being informed that your policy for "open-weights" is a well known practice backed by "research" and is shared with care teams who could potentially recommend your program. if so, this should be clearly stated and communicated to potential patients and on on your website.
