When I was 17 I went from in person residential treatment in Belmont, massachusetts (with a different organization), to out-patient treatment, online, over a video call with over 20 other people with this organization. They caused me nothing but tears and anxiety as I felt I was all alone in this recovery process. I was done by the third day. The only treatment center that actually helped me recover. And I’ve been to them all.
The only treatment place that actually helped me become independent in my recovery. I understand that some people are not prepared for sitting with their emotions rather than using coping skills or self-soothing behaviors. I found this to be incredibly helpful. I feel like a lot of treatment centers focus on treating the symptoms rather than getting to the root of the issue.
