In the old part of downtown Sheffield on Montgomery Street, a repurposed storefront has been turned into an up-to-date restaurant. Casual and more or less quiet, The Red Clay Table has been one of our go-to's since we discovered it a few years ago. Tonight I ordered the catfish dinner. It's the traditional southern plate, 3 pieces of catfish fillet, hush puppies and slaw. I took a baked sweet potato as the side dish. The slaw is considered just a side dish. The food is very good. The menu can be limiting but what they have is 5 stars
A real highlight of downtown Sheffield. Beautiful location with a great atmosphere. I've enjoyed everything I've ever ordered. Hunter did a wonderful job as my server today.
