I was in Charleston overnight and didn’t have time to go to a restaurant for a sit down meal, so I decided to get take out from The Rarebit. I ordered the catfish Poboy, which was excellent, and French fries, which were awful. They were limp and greasy. The poboy gets a four, but the fries get a zero.
This place has such good juju it just feels like home when you walk in. Cozy ambiance and warm lighting and late afternoon sun in the windows, excellent food and the best wait staff around. Chill vibes, down to earth folks. Good prices, good music. This place is truly like your favorite sweatshirt in the fall. It wraps you in comfort like a warm hug from a friend. Just go! Came in for lunch and got our food within 10 minutes of ordering! Best Mules around!
Rarebit was recommended by one of our hotel staff and we were not disappointed. The fried green tomatoes were a hit. Staff was friendly and service was great. I would recommend it.
