Okay, let me start by saying… when I first walked in, I was CONFUSED. I had no idea what I was doing or how this whole thing worked. Then Karen appeared at the counter—and let me tell you, she is definitely NOT a Karen! She was funny, warm, welcoming, and immediately made me feel comfortable. The chef was rude ! Cook your food correct the first time then another meal wouldn’t have to be order. & the manager was no better. It was confirmed with her first if another meal could be order before ordering anything. You don’t want food wasted then allow food to be took home. Will never go back! Do better, especially if I’m donating.
I found THE QUILTMAKER CAFE while in Chatham for work today, and so glad I did! It’s a welcoming pay-what-you-can community restaurant where all are invited to sit and eat in the spacious dining hall with farmhouse-style tables, colorful quilts and artwork on the walls created by local artists, games, a free library… So many things for social interaction.
