The ER Department at this hospital is severely lacking. Other reviewers have commented on the same department of this hospital. It is terribly unfortunate that West Oahu has only one other viable option (Kaiser Permanente Moanalua). If you go to the ER for health issues, be sure to get a second opinion from your personal doctor or another qualified physician at another hospital IMMEDIATELY. One star is still too high. If you have a child, take them to Kapiolani Medical Center. Unfortunately for us, the ambulance service said that it was beyond their district and that we could transfer once we get to Hawaii Medical Center West - but that didn't happen. Background History: My young child was unresponsive and turning blue at the water park - not from drowning but from a medical condition. The ambulance showed up and took my child to HMCW.
