The rate was great and the location couldn’t have been better.
Charming location. Clean. But do NOT pay peak season prices for this place. There are other better boutique hotels in the area. Agree with other reviews about minimal support from the front desk. Nothing egregious happened with us - just small things that added up- having to walk down multiple times at night for a complimentary water bottle. It would never get sent to our room. FRAUDULENT! DO NOT BOOK! THIS HOTEL RUNS A SCAM! I booked directly with the hotel and paid in full over a month in advance. We had booked a suite and when we showed up at the hotel yesterday they told us the room wasn’t ready. We waited and waited, finally going back to the front desk. Finally, after repeated entreaties, we were told the hotel had overbooked all of its rooms - even though we had confirmed the reservation with the hotel we had no room. We were completely shocked by the discrepancy between the glowing reviews we read and the reality of our stay at Hotel Ponchatrain. This hotel came up in my search as a boutique hotel with a 4-star rating, and at $400 a night, we expected a far higher standard of comfort and service.
