My mother was recently at The Pines in Clintonville, WI and she received wonderful care from the staff. My mother was always greeted with a smile and kindness from April, the Lead Cook who was always serving foods my mother loved. I was also grateful to Ashley and Tiffany CNA's for attending to my mom's needs while she was in her room by helping her dress, bathe, getting to and from the bathroom and taking her to her meals on a daily basis. Their food is god-awful. Looks so unappetizing. I've tried it when visiting my mom and it is gross.
My mom has been at the Pines for 3 years. They need better training and more workers! The food is absolutely god-awful and half the time. You can't even tell what's on their plate. They do NOT have a registered dietician on their staff; what they have is a guy who fancies himself a chef. Mom was losing weight, which she could ill afford, so my sister brings most of her food so she eats something palatable. Mom also had an issue a few months back with a "traveling nurse". My sister is/was in there with ALS. She had a machine for comminaction. The people that work there are to be friendly and helpful. THEY ARE NOT. Only 3 of the working staff is actually gentle. If she would tell them that she was hurting, they would ignore her or if there was MILK in her feeding tube. I time them on getting the door once and ot took them over 15 MINUTES.
