Our day visit to this place was magical—watching Jessie Holmes and the front running teams of the Iditarod pass the check point in such a pristine location was awe inspiring. The hospitality of every member of this family was unmatched, from arrival to departure we were welcomed, hosted, fed delicious hot soup in the lodge dining room, and provided hot cider by the fire. An unforgettable experience!
My first experience at RPL was at this cabin in Eagle Harbor with Steve Sr. deer hunting. Had occasion to return several times and took a good Kodiak there with my brother. Amenities then were pretty basic but more than adequate and provided a dry, warm place out of which to hunt. I can only imagine how comfortable this new iteration of the place must be. I first ""met""Steve while on a Blacktail hunt on Kodiak Island too many years ago to even remember. I was on a self guided Blacktail hunt. I knew nothing of what I was doing nor where I was going, but I was trying (unfortunately NOT successful). The combination of unique experience, distraction free rest & relaxation, allows for full focus on business meeting and team building.
