Friendly knowledgeable staff, great pool area, gym and classes.
3.5 stars. The Newmarket Olympic Pool is awesome. The pool itself, steam room and spa are great. The sauna and steam room are not in good repair however when compared with other Auckland public facilities. The ceiling of the steam room has peeling paint and is starting to bough. I think it's just a cosmetic issue and I understand the commercial difficulties with the closure for earthquake strengthening needed. But it would be great if that ceiling could be fixed.
Back in Taranaki the New Plymouth Aquatic Center facility are top notch and 3 times the area of Olympic. Where Olympic does better is the size of their Gym, Sauna and Stream Rooms. A bit dated with broken floor tiles but over all.l would definitely return.
A beautiful, historic, and feng-shui masterpiece of a facility. Movement offerings of all sorts and holistic hydrotherapy to round off the experience. Highly recommend to join and see for yourself.
