Bruce and his team were wonderful, the property is gorgeous, and the proximity to Fryeburg made for a fun jaunt through the rolling trees of changing leaves. If you make it to Old Saco, don't miss the Historic Hemlock Covered Bridge, which is only a few minutes drive off of Route 5 down Frog Alley Road!
My husband and I recently had a lovely stay at the Inn as a part of our honeymoon. Bruce, our host, was an excellent communicator, and we had access to his expertise as a local throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed, and we had an amazing view out over a big field and river. It was very serene and quiet; we enjoyed walking the grounds each morning. If we are lucky enough to return to the area we would absolutely stay here again.
We were there for a wedding in September. I’m surprised at some of the reviews before we went as we were expecting much more. The venue is beautiful. Rustic look on the lodging house and beautiful post and beam in the “barn” reception hall. The staff was friendly. The room we stayed in was the Naples Suite. Again the room itself was quaint in style. However, upon entering the floors were not swept nor washed. The tub had water rings around the drains (easily cleaned with scouring pads). We had our wedding here, it was perfect. All of the staff we worked with were attentive and friendly, the venue itself is gorgeous, and the inn on site is really comfortable. Kathy coordinated our wedding and she did a phenomenal job, she helped us feel that we were in good hands and then executed our vision perfectly. She kept us calm throughout the rehearsal and the morning of the wedding and answered our many questions before.
