For a small town hotel this was pretty good. It's a little old school, but not unpleasantly so. Keep in mind that as with many buildings in the area it serves multiple functions, I believe it's also an apartment for some residences. This includes having access to a full communal kitchen and freezer (follow the rules). This place did not disappoint! We were in the beach suite for 4 nights. It has a full sized kitchen and a washer/dryer. Everything is truly within walking distance. Waking up every morning and falling asleep each night to the sound of the ocean dancing with the shore is something every one should experience. Robin, Ray, and AJ were phenomenal hosts - from chatting with us about the island’s history to sharing the locations of some of its hidden gems. Our only regret was not staying longer! We had 4 nights there in the lower beachfront suite. Amazing living area with the windows. Although there is a TV to watch, we mostly just chilled and watched the ocean and mountains. The patio is perfect for a couple to just chill out on. The kitchen has all you need. Big fridge, induction stove and oven, microwave, toaster, and smokeless grill, with the pots and pans and utensils you'll need. Oh, and a washer and dryer! Great spot, good location, beauty view, fast and easy check in with friendly staff. Also dog friendly, so perfect for us. Well definitely be staying again.
I've had to give this so.e thought. I understand Sointula is a bit off the beaten path, however, all in at $400 a night, hmmm. Overall the stay was ok, the suite had everything i needed. Check in was simple and timed nicely w the ferry. Now, I wasn't expecting the Fairmont, despite the seasonal Fairmont price, but, the price did leave me questioning not going w the air bnb option.
