I hired the doula service out of The Nurturey, after a friend told me to strongly consider getting a doula for my birth. With this being my first baby, I wanted to help myself as much as I could so I took my friends advice. With very little knowledge about what a profound impact doulas can have during a birth, I went in blind but was blown away with Sarah. She was phenomenal and I would absolutely recommend. I was a few weeks postpartum when I reached out to Jess. I had reoccurring mastitis and was wanting to quit pumping. Jess did an at-home visit with me and set up a plan to get me to my goal of not producing any more milk. Unfortunately, I started having mastitis symptoms again. I went to my local clinic and received another dose of antibiotics. Jess requested that before I start the medication, I get a milk culture done to find what type of bacteria was in my milk. This is an amazing service. These ladies are all about serving you with love, support, and education. All of my decisions were respected and honored, even if it wasn't a part of my original plan. I learned a lot about breastfeeding before and after having my baby. Jess and Sarah did a great job of encouraging me- especially as a first time mom. I love the Nurturey! Very helpful and comfortable! I was very nervous about going and felt like I was wasting time and nothing was going to help but towards the end of my appointment I felt excited about breastfeeding and extremely confident that I will be able to breastfeed until my son turns one!
