Second time visiting this hotel. We were in the city for the Hamilton show. The staff is friendly, the valet/concierge and room service staff are exceptional. I am in love with the pillows and bedding as I always sleep so soundly here. We ordered room service and the food was delicious. The mini bar is very pricey but that is to be expected. My only complaint is I wish there were more in room late night snack options 😋 and I am incredibly picky and for a 5 star place I expect perfection in the cleanliness department. There ... read more
My entire family stayed at The Newbury while we were in the area for my wedding. They provided top notch service and went above and beyond to make my weekend special even though I wasn’t getting married at the hotel. They thought ahead to provide full length mirrors and barstools for hair and makeup, and upgraded our rooms for extra space! They even had champagne and a gift from Tiffany and Co waiting for my new husband and I when we returned after our wedding. I truly cannot believe this hotel is rated as 5 stars. From the very first night, I noticed significant mildew (possibly black mold) all over the shower. I immediately reported it to the concierge, who assured me it would be taken care of. When we returned later, the shower had clearly just been drenched in bleach — the chemical smell was overpowering — yet the mold was still visibly present.
