I first went to Dr. Laratta in June of 2025. Admittedly I was in a lot of pain and probably pretty cranky. I had been dealing with lower back pain the majority of my adult life. It used to come and go so I had been through every kind of treatment imaginable So when I saw Dr Laratta for the first time I told him "If your plan is to send me to PT and prescribe opioids for the pain, we are done here, been there done that". Dr. Shillingford is great, but the front office staff is incredibly rude, specifically Noelle. I went to see the Kentucky Neck and Back Institute due to the Ivy League backgrounds of both physicians. I have a herniated disc and they recommended pain management, and not surgery as I am younger. This involves having to call/request the office for a steroid pack when I have flare ups, which when they happen, significantly impact me to the point where I am nearly unable to walk, and affects all areas of my life.
