It is too difficult to support a group here in the U.S.A. that is a global group with ties to Bank of America, BP America, Chevron, Coca-Cola, Dow Chemical, Duke Energy, Monsanto and other big business.
Learning more about the Nature Conservancy’s work in Michigan indears us even more to the organization and to our lovely Great Lakes state. Thank you Helen and team for the incredible body of work you are undertaking for our Great Lakes region.
If they didn't do work with Monsanto and DOW chemical I would have donated. The people who came to my door were friendly but once I found that out I had to turn them away. No way we will have a healthy environment if they're in bed with these companies. They should be taking their money via litigation, not donation.
You do great work but your partnership with Dow Chemical soured me greatly. I get that you need funding. But this company is responsible for so much damage to the Saginaw Bay region---- fifty miles of river the bay of Lake Huron ( the largest freshwater coastal wetland in the nation). They have undermined and politically manipulated enforcement behind the scenes, lied about the toxicity of dioxin and bought off locals with their philanthropy. You are what you do.
