Just moved into my first apartment at The Monroe and I’m already in love with it. I’m a sophomore at IU and this is such a big step up from dorm life.The place is super nice, really clean, and it actually feels like home. I’ve got my own space, a full kitchen and one of my favorite things; the gym, which is open 24/7. I can go whenever I want, no stress. It’s also in a great spot, literally close to kroger, college malls and other great places. Honestly couldn’t have picked a better place for this year.
Living here I had many ups and downs but mostly down. This place gave me depression, it looks like a sex motel. When I first came to the apartment many parts was already broken including the bathroom. It’s absolutely horrible to live in. The door was moldy and the heating system is faulty. I lived here a year ago. Even though DOT the staff was very kind to me, the monroe still charged me 250 dollars and said the debt collectors will come after me if I do not pay for the damages which I never did and if so why don’t the monro... read more
The only reason someone would willingly live here is if they deeply hated their own lives and themselves and wanted to drain their bank accounts as quickly as possible. Seriously a trap for all undergrads and one of the most predatory places I’ve ever lived at. Living here is like living at a motel but somehow worse. The walls are paper thin, everything is dirty no matter how many times you clean it, and mold apparently isn’t The Monroe’s responsibility. THIS PLACE IS A TRAP. This apartment complex is the most deceptive, unprofessional, and predatory place. They hit you with all kind of fees and charges. You’ll be charged for things you never did, and they make it impossible to challenge them. The contract is designed to protect them, not you. Their goal is to nickel and dime tenants, then silence anyone who pushes back. You can’t ever get out of the contract, even for medical reasons or if there is an unsafe situation.
