I’ve been waiting in the emergency room for over 12 hours for a doctor to see me and diagnose a serious condition I’m dealing with; night has fallen, and it turns out there’s only one doctor on duty for the whole night and more than 28 patients—I’m heading home. To top it off, I saw a woman crying in pain for half an hour, and she wasn't seen until five hours later, despite the state she was in. In short: it was deplorable—a total disaster. In my eyes, we’re paying staff for an emergency department that are just sitting in there basically no doctor so without a doctor, they can’t do nothing anyways all they can do is just monitor a patient’s health until they’re dead or till they walk out and a lot of people are walking away and they’re sick. This is not the way to run a hospital. I give you guys a .5 out of 10 it is not the way to run a hospital.

Today I went to the Moncton Hospital Emergency Department because my family doctor hadn’t been taking my concerns seriously, and I had been feeling unwell for quite some time. The care I received was wonderful. Everything was very quick and efficient. I was seen by triage within 10 minutes of arriving, and from there, everything moved along smoothly. My experience at The Moncton Hospital Emergency Department was extremely frustrating and exhausting. I waited for approximately 17 hours and never saw a doctor. Eventually, I simply could not continue waiting and had to leave without receiving the medical care I came for. I understand that an emergency department cannot operate strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Patients with more serious or life-threatening conditions absolutely should be given priority. With the right team service is good. I had an amazing experience with the trama team. Not so much with the observation team....
