Stayed 4 nights,prices reasonable. Rooms are old,rooms are very clean,very comfortable beds. Ceiling fans & air conditioning. Hot showers. Needs renovations in the bathroom. Has hair-dryer,tea & coffee. Walking distance to shops,railway station,supermarket & dining.
We had a delightful high tea at the metropole. The scones with the jam and butter were as good as any I had in England. The lady at the front desk went ABOVE and BEYOND helping us with a tricky electric vehicle charging situation. If we ever come back to Katoomba we will 100% stay at the Metropole. A place to unwind and settle in.
Great stay at The Metropole Guest House. The location is excellent, just across from Katoomba station, making it very convenient for getting around. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The building has a charming old-style atmosphere. Overall a pleasant stay and good value.
Characterful building in good location close to everything in town. Sufficient car parking included. Room well equipped and everything worked well. Plenty of very hot water. Some aspects feel a little outdated. Reasonably priced breakfast. Only noteworthy issue is that our room was quite noisy with significant traffic and train noise that continued (surprisingly) throughout the night. My room had no wardrobe, otherwise clean and comfortable. I was greeted by an abrupt reception staff member and give a long form to sign which covered additional fees for call outs and damages. It was a negative start to my visit. Otherwise, the guest areas of a lounge, library and games area were great and a delightful young man on reception helped me with my bag downstairs and across the road even - I am an older person. So his kindness provided a great end to my stay.
